How to pack up your server

MonkeyBytes winds down at the end of November 2026. Here are two ways to get every file off your server before then — a one-click automatic export, or a short manual walkthrough.

Whichever route you take, do it well before the shutdown date. Do not leave it to the last few days in case something needs a retry.

What you'll get

  • One zip file per server, containing everything on it
  • Automatic option: every server bundled into one download
  • Manual option: full control, one server at a time
  • Works the same whichever runtime your bot uses
Fastest option

Automatic: the Export Data button

Go to your Account page and find the Export Data card. Click Export All Servers and MonkeyBytes will archive every server you own, one folder per server, and combine them into a single zip. Once it's ready, click Download Zip, then unzip it — you'll have one folder per server, each with its full files and code.

This is the recommended option if you have more than one server, since it does the folder-by-folder work for you.

Good to know

  • Larger servers can take a few minutes to archive — the page shows live progress
  • You can start another export any time
  • Nothing is deleted from your server by exporting
Prefer to do it yourself

Manual: pack up one server at a time

If you'd rather handle it server by server through the file manager, here's exactly how.

  1. Open FilesFrom your server's dashboard, click Files in the tab list on the left (Console, Files, Databases, Startup, Settings, Delete).
  2. Select what you wantOn the file list, tick the files you want to keep, or use select all.
  3. Watch for the bottom barOnce you have files selected, an action bar appears at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Click ArchiveThis packs your selection into a single archive file.
  5. Find the archiveIt appears in the same file list and contains everything you selected.
  6. Open its optionsClick the three dots on the right of the archive file.
  7. Click DownloadYour browser will start downloading the archive.
  8. Save itChoose where to save it on your computer.
  9. Unzip itExtract the archive using your usual tool (Windows and macOS both unzip natively).
  10. DoneYou've successfully packed up that server. Repeat for any others.

Quick checklist

  • Repeat these steps once per server — the automatic export does this for you in one go
  • Check the archive downloaded fully before closing the tab
  • Keep a copy somewhere safe, not just in Downloads
  • Confirm the unzipped folder has your code and config in it
